Blackfoot Crossing Visit

On November 22, 2019 U of L researchers went to visit Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park. The facilities were stunning! The park is a National Heritage site on the Siksika reserve in Alberta. It overlooks the beautiful Bow River, from the view inside you can see the location where Treaty 7 was signed on September 22, 1877. Treaty 7 is the agreement made between the Crown and Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, Stoney-Nakoda, and Tsuu Tina nations. The lower level of the building houses a fantastic exhibition about the culture, history, and story of the Blackfoot Confederacy. They also have a amazing website with lots of content and information, its defiantly worth a read if you cannot make it to the site in person. http://www.blackfootcrossing.ca/index.html
